1. Risoul, the Forêt Blanche is yours!

At an altitude of 1850 m, the Risoul ski resort gives the appearance of a mountain village with its forests and chalets. The Forêt Blanche ski area is one of the most attractive in the Alps. 185 km of slopes (112 runs) in a very natural atmosphere in the middle of pine and larch trees. For the advanced skiers, the famous "piste du kilomètre lancé" (kilometre run) allows you to have assess to your top speed. By the way, the world record is 254,958 km/h.

In the resort, many activities are offered to you: snowmobile, quad biking, ice skating, tobogganing, snake-gliss, paragliding, snowshoeing, ski touring, ice climbing, cinema, or even SPA, etc. Something to delight the whole family!

2. Serre Chevalier, the biggest

Created in 1941, Serre Chevalier ski resort is located at an altitude of 1200 metres. It is recognised as the largest ski resort in the Southern Alps, thanks to its large mileage of runs and its number of tourists. It is nicknamed "the resort with 13 villages".

Serre Chevalier is an ideal resort for sports enthusiasts and thrill seekers. It has a bike park with 10 tracks, 193 kilometres of cross-country tracks and a BMX track. It also offers climbing, hiking, road biking, swimming pools, skate park, etc. In addition, its ski area includes a wide variety of slopes suitable for all types of skiers, whether they are experienced or beginners.

3. Isola 2000, sunshine above all

As its name suggests, Isola 2000 is located at an altitude of 2000 metres in the hinterland of Nice. With a large ski area (120 km of slopes), the resort offers a magnificent surrondings. Known for its unchanging sunshine, Isola 2000 is the perfect combo between good weather and good quality of snow. All this at an affordable price since the day pass is at 35 €. It is also possible to take a package only for the snowpark. This gives you access to the marmot chairlift as well as the Mercantour gondola lift, twice a day.

4. Pra Loup, 2h30 away from Marseille

Pra-Loup is one of the most southern resorts in the Alps. Located only 7 km from Barcelonnette, the sun is almost always shining. The Grand Angle ski area is made up of 48 slopes with 19 lifts spread over 180 km. At 2h30 from Marseille by car, it is one of the resorts honored by southerners, essentialy thanks to its unchanging sunshine. The resort is in two parts. One part at an altitude of 1600 metres in the middle of larch trees at the foot of the slopes, and a second quieter part, at 1500 metres, further from the centre of the resort.

5. La Grave, for the freeride !

La Grave is a ski resort located at an altitude of 1500 metres. Between Serre Chevalier and the 2 Alpes, and above the Meiji massif. This resort is known as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The only ski lift in the resort takes you up to 3600 meters with a breathtaking view. It is also considered one of the best Freeride ski spots in Europe.

Its ski area has the particularity of having a single slope. A 2 km blue run. Indeed, La Grave is a resort based essentially on freeride skiing. It is therefore more suited for experienced skiers.
