Julia Lejoille, qualified ski instructor, joins the Ski Family team in Val Thorens and Les Ménuires!

Born in the mountains and more particularly in Flumet near Megève, Julia was born on skis like all the children of the mountains in Haute Savoie! Our dynamic ski instructor in Val Thorens had a very "racing" profile, she did a lot of ski competition when she was younger, with the ski club and then in committee until the age of 20. Her career can be summed up as a passionate and determined young girl, as soon as she was in high school, our ski instructor from Les Ménuires joined a sports section to be able to practice skiing at a certain level in addition to her schooling. Afterwards, Julia, our alpine ski instructor, joined the high school of Moutier in skiing (high level), she was then in national level and took part in the French junior championships. From one day to the next, Julia started to ski cross to discover a more "fun" side of skiing! And in 2000 our superb ski instructor participated in the famous X-Games in ski cross!

What led you to the monitor diploma

"The next logical step was to continue in the field and of course to start my ski monitor, thanks to my FIS points, I did not pass the technical test and the euro test and I started to teach for the weekends and vacations but I also continued the competition on the side of La Clusaz, but I finally went to UCPA in Les Arcs where I learned snowboarding and off-piste skiing. After a season in Verbier, Switzerland, I decided to move to Val Thorens, and that's when Chloé and I, also ski instructors, decided to create Girl School.

Why Val Thorens ?

"It's been 12 years now that I live in Val Thorens all year round, I'm well installed there and it allows me to go to Les Ménuires for the winter season since I'm at home.

What do you like best about your job?

"I love beginners, and seeing people evolve, comparing and seeing their evolution at the beginning and end of the course, and especially seeing people with a smile on their face and happy with themselves at any level! It's a pleasure to share your passion and pass on your knowledge to people, but the best reward for a ski instructor is to see the smiles on people's faces and the success at every level!
