Corentin, ski instructor in Les Menuires

I was born in Auvergne, but I quickly moved to the Alps at a very young age. It was in Meribel, the first time I put on skis at the age of 2. I liked it right away and it quickly became a passion. So much so that until I was 18, I did a lot of competitions.

Concerning my career, when I was 18 years old I went to train at the UCPA (National Union of Outdoor Sports Centers) for 6 years. I alternated between several resorts such as La Plagne, Tignes and Les Orres. It was a very formative moment and I really enjoyed teaching. Then, I did 2 years at the ESF of Praz de Lys before joining the Ski Family of Les Menuires. So I've been teaching skiing and snowboarding for 8 years. Besides, I really like the 2 disciplines. They provide totally different sensations. I really enjoy teaching both.

Since I started teaching on the slopes, I can't live without it. I love passing on my passion for skiing. Seeing my students have fun on the snow is really satisfying. Plus, I'm in an environment that I love and I meet great people. The contact between the students and me is often easy because they are interested in learning to ski.

Teaching in Les Menuires is great! The ski area is so varied that the possibilities are numerous. I really like to take my students on the caron peak, it's one of the highest point of the resort. There are really breathtaking panoramas. You can even see seas of clouds from time to time. This is the advantage of the 3 valleys area, you can easily go up to more than 3000 meters and have an incredible view on all the Alps. About Les Menuires, what is good is that there is a lot of forest and it's quite nice to do off-piste between the fir trees.

I try to vary as much as possible the places where I take my students depending on their level and their desires. The important thing is to make them feel confident. That's the best way for them to have fun on skis, and that's how they will progress.
