Jeanne, ski instructor in Risoul

I was born in Ollioule in the Var, but my parents, who were teachers in Embrun, bought a house on the Orres hill, in Embrun, so we used to go there on weekends and during the vacations. So I wasn't born in the mountains, but it's just the same.

I wanted to be a ski instructor from a very young age. When I was little, I told my parents that I wanted to be a ski instructor.
I learned to ski and started teaching in Les Orres. As soon as I graduated, I went to the ESF in Vars. Soon after I joined the ESI which was set up in the resort with mainly young people from the Vars ESF. A good bunch of friends! And today I am an independent instructor. So I've been teaching in the Forêt Blanche for 20 years.

I studied sports at the Ureps (Staps) with the option of skiing, so I learned a lot about analyzing didactics and technique in a very educational way. And that really fascinated me.
At the same time, I was taking my exams and my test.

Skiing and board sports in general, have always made me vibrate. So I went to different countries to ski, like Japan last year or Norway a few years before. The most impressive thing in Japan is the quality of the snow. It is so cold during the day that the snow is perfect from morning to night. It is even possible to ski at night! These are incredible experiences when you love skiing like me. And it is this passion that I want to transmit to my students! 

I have been snowboarding for a long time, but I don't teach it anymore.
Skiing remains my true passion. I am happy every day when I have skis on my feet. I always have my ski equipment in the car and if an opportunity arises, I go for it!
I am an instructor because I want to teach this passion to my students. I love to observe the technique and to see the students progress, it is a great satisfaction. I like to make them feel confident and to make them surpass themselves in order to transmit my passion for skiing.
