Théo Martinez, snowboard instructor in Peisey Vallandry

Originally from Font Remeu in the Pyrenees Orientales, our ski instructor from Peisey Vallandry started learning to ski at the age of 3. All his family being immersed in the world of alpine skiing, the logical continuation was for Theo to continue in club. When he arrived at college, our snowboard instructor joined an alpine ski section and then the hope pole in Moutier. His course is then outlined for the future. At 15 years old, Théo decided to hang up the competition and continued training to be able to pass his snowboard instructor diploma.

Our ski instructor in Peisey Vallandry decides to start snowboarding, first of all to be able to validate the ski instructor diploma, but the practice became a passion, he starts teaching snowboarding very quickly by being a coach in a snowboard club.

Théo took the classic route of ENSA in Chamonix, then taught for 4 years in Font Remeu. He finally decided to join his family in Les Arcs where he joined the UCPA and then taught in Les Arcs and in the Paradiski area, including Peisey Vallandry.

What does Theo like best about being a snowboard instructor?

As for many of our snowboard instructors, teaching outdoors in the mountain environment is a little piece of heaven for Theo. For our snowboard instructor in Peisey Vallandry, the first goal is to transmit the love of the practice and transmit the values of the mountain environment to try to sensitize the people he accompanies in their learning to the environment.

Theo has a little affinity with snowboarding as far as teaching is concerned, he describes snowboarding as more fun! And by the way, our snowboard instructor is back in competition but this time in snowboarding!
