Last year, the containment and the covid-19 crisis cut the ski season short considerably. The resorts had to close their doors as of March 17, 2020. Many people were asked to cancel their stays. An economic disaster for the ski resorts.
This year, no confinement (for the moment), but sanitary safety measures are on the agenda to keep the ski resorts open and allow people to make the most of their stay in the mountains.
The barrier gestures are now part of our daily life. Skiing and board sports in general are held outside, they promote the maintenance of these barrier gestures. In particular thanks to the clothing (gloves, neck warmer, etc. ...) and equipment (helmet, mask, etc. ...) necessary for the practice of these sports. In 2020, we must learn to live with covid-19, even in ski resorts. For this, several measures will be implemented in the ski resorts.
First of all, it will be compulsory to wear a mask in buses / shuttles, in queues and on ski lifts, in shops, in buildings (common areas, public spaces), and finally in bars and restaurants.
In addition to the mandatory wearing of masks, contact areas in ski lifts must be disinfected at least once a day.
At the equipment rental companies, the equipment will also be disinfected after each return and before each rental. Hydro-alcoholic gel will of course be made available to you, as in all shops.
In bars and restaurants, service will be done sitting down only. It will be mandatory to wear a mask when moving around the room and frequent disinfection of contact surfaces will be implemented.
In the ski schools, the same struggle. A particular organization will be necessary. The wearing of masks will be compulsory at the beginning and end of the lessons, for the instructors and the students. The schools are committed to a complete disinfection of the material lent (bibs, etc...). For the rest, the courses will take place without particular change. The instructor will be responsible for ensuring that his students respect the measures against covid-19.
With Ski Family, you will receive a full refund from the moment the course is cancelled due to a positive Covid 19 case.
In addition, due to the risks posed by COVID19, we have made arrangements to guarantee you a full refund if any of the following restrictions come into effect the day before your arrival:
With the spread of covid-19 around the world, it is becoming increasingly difficult to travel internationally. The situation is similar with ski resorts. Some jurisdictions around the world have banned or restricted skiing. Canada and the United States, for example, have banned foreign skiers from their territories. Other countries such as Germany and Switzerland have instituted a quarantine pending the result of a test.
As a result, France is the place to be this year. The Alps seem to be the ideal compromise since Italy does not have any particular rules. Moreover, the Alps offer an important diversity in terms of landscapes, and especially in terms of ski resorts. You are spoilt for choice.
Alternatively, you can turn to our list of stations to make that choice.
