Freeriding is a lot different than skiing on a groomed, unobstructed trail. Off-piste skiing includes knowing how to ski properly in all conditions and on all types of snow. If you are not 100% sure of your level and technique, it is better to discover this extreme practice with an instructor or a guide!
In Risoul, the Forêt Blanche ski area is full of fun and exciting off-piste routes. On skis or snowboard, there are many possibilities: the snowy crests of the Col des Saluces, the Homme de Pierre area or the slopes near the Pic de Chabrières. Between fields of powder and itineraries under the larches, you can make the most of the slopes that the Forêt Blanche has in store for you.
Off-piste skiing is by nature a discipline involving many risks. It therefore requires a confirmed level of experience as well as a good knowledge of the high mountains and safety rules. Leave with peace of mind: the off-piste instructors we work with are all professionals with excellent skills in terms of supervision in glacial environments. They will of course brief you beforehand on the dangers and safety measures to be respected so that your freeride outing is a success in every aspect!
To continue to progress on the slopes, even at an advanced level, we offer several other options. You can choose to progress quickly by booking a private ski or snowboard lesson with us. A ski instructor will then be entirely dedicated to you! You come to Risoul with your family? Think about registering your child in one of our group lessons for children, where a friendly atmosphere of small group will reign.
