Our off-piste ski instructor in Peisey Vallandry grew up in Chatel, with parents who were ski instructors, so it didn't take long before Steven found himself with skis on his feet. At the age of 9 Steven's family moved to Les Arcs, and at 12/13 freestyle and freeride skiing became a real passion. When he reached high school, Steven concentrated on his instructor training at the UCPA in Les Arcs. Our instructor, not yet graduated at the time, had a less technical profile because of his interest in freeskiing, which required a little more work to obtain his diploma.
Steven has been teaching since he was 18 years old, first in Flaine, then in Vars to be able to take advantage of the freestyle ski facilities that the resort offers. After a return to Les ARCS, Steven gave ski lessons there for 7 years, then at Club Med for 2 seasons, so it's a new experience for him at Ski Family while remaining in his off-piste skiing sector in Peisey Vallandry where he knows the best riding corridors!
Also passionate about board sports such as wakeboarding and surfing, he spends the other half of the year on a boat in a nautical base.
As a ski instructor, being able to live off your passion while going to work is a luxury.
